Ação da Cidadania

Founded by the sociologist Herbert de Souza, known as Betinho, Ação da Cidadania was born in 1993, forming an immense network of national mobilization to help 32 million Brazilians who, according to data from Ipea, were below the poverty line. Created at the height of the Movement for Ethics in Politics, Ação da Cidadania against Hunger, Misery, and for Life has become the most recognized social movement in Brazil.
