Corporate Sustainability

Wilson Sons sees sustainability as an all-encompassing concept which must affect the organization economic, social and environmentally (which make up the triple bottom line), and which starts with sensible management focused on long-lasting results for the company and society as a whole.

Based on this vision, and with support from the Brazilian Foundation for Sustainable Development (FBDS), Wilson Sons defined projects and commitments which were outlined in the sustainability diagnostic, started in 2008, considering both the economic, social and environmental aspects of its business and the aspects evaluated by BM&FBovespa's Corporate Sustainability Index (ISE).

Since then, the business units started to adopt the same methodology, and they are undergoing the stage of diagnostic and construction of plans of action, they are led by a multidisciplinary team responsible for coordinating and reporting on advances. 

GHG Protocol

The GHG Protocol Brazilian Program aims to stimulate corporate culture for the preparation and publication of greenhouse gas emissions (GHG) inventories, providing participants with access to international quality instruments and standards. 

Wilson Sons is among the first companies in the naval and port industry in Brazil to adopt this methodology and to publish its own inventory.

IGA - Environmental Management Index

The Environmental Management Index (IGA) is the assessment method used by the Wilson Sons Group to monitor the company's strategic performance in environmental management. Built on environmental demands from various stakeholders, such as the Global Reporting Initiative, Global Compact, Ethos, Bloomberg, among others. The tool considers six themes to calculate indicators.

Criando Laços (Creating Ties)

In view of its role in the development of society and in promoting employee social engagement, Wilson Sons created in 2007 the Business Volunteering Program "Criando Laços", which is extending from north to south in the country (Belém, Paranaguá, Rio Grande, Rio de Janeiro, Santo André, Santos, São Francisco do Sul, and São Sebastião). 

Pacto Global (Global Compact)

Wilson Sons was the first in its segment to become a signatory to the United Nations Global Compact. In Brazil, the action mobilizes the business community for the adoption of social responsibility policies, starting with ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption.  Access:
