Wilson Sons, a leader in port and maritime logistics in Brazil, reported a growth of up to 40% in its Santo André Logistics Centre in the last year, strengthening its position as the largest bonded facility in the State of São Paulo. This growth reflects the Logistics Centre’s continued ability to meet the growing market demands, providing integrated customised logistics solutions to its clients.
The 119,700-m² business unit celebrates its 25th anniversary this May. It offers bonded and domestic storage, transport and distribution, in addition to customised on-demand services. Last year, it expanded its Distribution Centre by 40%, while the Bonded Terminal Facility grew by 12%. The segments that have been growing most in the business unit are automotive, consumer goods and retail, technology, machinery, beverages and food.
“It is an immense source of pride to celebrate the 25 years of the Santo André Logistics Centre, an important link of foreign trade and domestic logistics, which connects the ABC industrial district with the state of São Paulo, Brazil and the world, through integrated and customised logistics solutions,” said Demir Lourenço, executive director of the business unit.
The structure of the Logistics Centre includes a general and bonded warehouse on the same site, free of transfer costs and a wide range of additional services, such as kit assembly, labelling, industrial assembly and temperature control.
Located in the ABC Paulista, which is Latin America’s leading economic area, the Logistic Centre is only 28 km from Guarulhos International Airport, 107 km from Viracopos International Airport, 79 km from the Port of Santos and 18 km from the beltway Rodoanel Mario Covas. The facility is close to these important logistical links and outside the vehicle-rotation zone, therefore it is prepared to serve the main industries that operate in the region.
“We are really happy to celebrate this important business date by recalling our achievements, working on the present and looking to the future, thinking about logistics with innovation and focusing on delivering value to our clients,” said Thais Sangean, general manager of the Logistics Centre.
Regarding new projects, Wilson Sons continues to pursue innovation and develop new solutions in the Logistics Centre, always focusing on meeting customer needs, with cutting-edge technology and international safety practices, and supporting the foreign trade and domestic logistics supply chain.
The unit has the largest bonded area in the State of São Paulo (68,000 m²) and 51,700 m² of general warehousing facilities, with 53 docks and 6 cold storage rooms, as well as integrated solutions for customs and inventory management, special customs systems, demurrage control, performance management indicators and related services. The Logistics Centre is ISO 14001-certified for its commitment to the Integrated Management System (Quality and Environment), and high quality services conducted with efficiency and safety.
