Check Annex XXXIV - Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore Scope:
Committed to the safety of its employees, Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore has implemented since 2014 a program for transforming culture in HSE entitled WSUT+. The program is based on the establishment and review of procedures and processes, operational discipline, management of deviations, organizational line responsibility, behavioral approach and leadership engagement.
In qualitative terms, the objective of WSUT+ is to achieve and maintain an interdependent culture in HSE management, in which all people are concerned and act on the agenda, without necessarily belonging to this area. In quantitative terms, the objective of the project is mainly to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents, implement and maintain behavioral observation routines and safe HSE practices, among other proactive performance indicators.
Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore Quality, Safety, Health and Environment Management System complies with the International Safety Management Code (ISM Code) and ISO 9001:2015 certification, both issued by Lloyd's Register. These codes represent an international standard for managing and establishing rules that make ships and port facilities safer, in compliance with the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (“SOLAS”) and the International Convention for the Prevention of Pollution from Ships (“MARPOL”). In addition, we execute our Integrated Management System also based on OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 standards.
Added to the control of environmental indicators, the company's environmental performance is verified annually through the IGA - Environmental Management Index. The IGA is an internal audit aimed at excellence in practices related to six environmental themes: water resources, solid waste, atmospheric emissions, environmental licensing, stakeholders and environmental damage.
Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore, through its Health, Environment, Safety and Quality Policy (HSEQ), considers the Environment a strategic area and is committed to having a good environmental performance, through operational excellence, a concept of continuous improvement, risk management and compliance with legal requirements. The monitoring of legal compliance is carried out with the support of a consultancy specializing in legislation in the HSE area. The legal compliance indicators are monitored by the senior management and, in addition, internal audits are carried out to ensure the good management of these requirements throughout the year. Other indicators that are controlled by the company are the environmental ones, which include monitoring the consumption of energy, fuel, water and waste generation.
In 2019, the Conscious Consumption Project was started, the first phase of which established goals for reducing the volumes of common waste and oily water. The main objective of this project is to rethink the use of materials, avoiding waste, and achieving operational excellence in the waste management process. To achieve the goals and objectives, awareness-raising materials and training were prepared, in addition to the "onboard blitz" to monitor the disposal of waste on vessels.
Since 2014, Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore has carried out its inventory of greenhouse gases (GHG) emissions, using the methodology established by the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program, and understands that this agenda is extremely important, as more and more actions are needed for the combating the effects of climate change. The data are published within the Wilson Sons Group's Corporate Inventory, which is available on the website of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program. Most of our fleet is made up of vessels that have diesel-electric engines, which reduce the consumption of fossil fuels that contribute to the increase in GHG emissions.
Finally, Wilson Sons Ultratug Offshore is part of the Wilson Sons Group, which is a signatory to the Global Compact of the United Nations (UN). Being part of the Global Compact means acting in the adoption of social responsibility, human and labor rights, environmental protection and anti-corruption policies.
