In addition to the Camaçari Industrial Complex, Bahia is the fifth Brazilian producer of minerals and stands as one of the three main targets of interest for mineral exploration in the country, especially for metallic minerals such as iron, gold, aluminum, copper, among others.
The state's western region holds the major grain and cotton producer center of the country. Up north,the fruit producer center takes place in São Francisco Valley. We can add the importance of the footwear industry, the main center of the world's cocoa research and still the largest producer center of this fruit in the country. Also noteworthy is the sisal industrial park, where the state is the largest producer of the fiber and the fourth largest eucalyptus producer in the country, having one of the largest industrial parks in the world of paper and cellulose.
Salvador Container Terminal has the capacity to accommodate the whole production demand of Bahia.
