We are aware of the relevance of socio-environmental issues for the market in which we operate and for the entire global context.

Therefore, we have defined a performance model that aims to generate and protect value, connecting sustainability management to our strategic objectives.

It reduces our operational risks, improves our performance, attracts and retains talented professionals, better prepares us for the growing demands of society, and has an impact on the granting of financing and on the perception of shareholders and investors.

Thus, we have evolved in the HSE agenda by applying the Corporate HSE Policy and its respective guidelines, which underpin all the programs in the area.

We have sought to meet the policy and its guidelines through programs, procedures, instructions, changes, technological innovations and process reviews, always following the improvement cycle based on (I) planning, so that all possibilities are adequately evaluated; (II) implementation, so that the improvements can be effective; (III) monitoring, so that the effectiveness can be evaluated; and (IV) constant review, so that the solution can be improved.

ISO 45001:2018

Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety Management. ISO 45001 adopts comprehensive control methods for safe operation, minimizing risks and operational downtime. The Management System is aimed at covering different audiences, such as employees, third parties, suppliers and visitors.

Most recognized international standard for environmental management systems. It establishes a criteria for structured management in the company, proactively understanding the environmental aspects of its activities in order to improve its environmental performance.

Environmental management at Wilson Sons is based on the best practices available.

We value initiatives and projects that seek to reduce impacts and contribute to the increase of efficiency in operations. Those are the program of treatment and reuse of effluents, measures to reduce water and fuel consumption. We are aware and active in the climate agenda and we are committed to build solutions that adapt Wilson Sons to the new scenarios established by the challenges imposed by climate change in the world.

Transparency and responsibility: since 2013, we have been releasing our Inventory of Greenhouse Gas (GHG) emissions.

The initiative is to quantify and report, in a transparent way, our GHG emissions. In this way, further to identifying possible points of reduction, we

are able to see, in a more strategic manner, how to make improvements, guaranteeing more efficiency to our processes.

To follow in the sustainability path, we have adopted technologies which contribute to a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions:

Modernization of the diesel propulsion systems on our offshore vessels to more efficient diesel-electric ones;
Use of electric RTGs in our container terminals;
Monitoring of tug movements by our Towage Operational Center (COR) in order to reduce fuel consumption;
Retrofit of the illumination in Tecon Rio Grande and the shipyard for a more modern system, thus reducing by more than 50%the electricity consumed in both locations.

For the second year running, we won the gold seal of the Brazilian GHG Protocol Program

The certification is the highest level of recognition for companies that demonstrate transparency in their inventories aimed at an agenda to combat climate change, being granted to organizations that report all their emitting sources and are verified by an external audit.

In 2021, we also became members of the CDP - Carbon Disclosure Project

A global initiative which aims to build, in partnership with

companies and governments, a truly sustainable economy, by measuring and understanding the environmental impact.
