Wilson Sons was the first in its segment to become a signatory of the United Nations (UN) Global Compact. In Brazil, the action mobilizes the business community for the adoption of social responsibility policies, having the ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor rights, environmental protection and fight against corruption as its starting point.
For over 20 years, Wilson Sons has been promoting volunteer actions with its employees. However, it was in 2007 that the company launched its volunteer program, Criando Laços (Creating Ties in Portuguese), which aims to foster and support voluntary social actions at Wilson Sons assets throughout the Country.
The initiative was born from the desire of employees to contribute and engage in activities of a sociocultural nature, with a focus on communities located in the areas of influence of our operations.
In the last 13 years, our actions had the participation of 4,589 volunteers, impacting 13,299 beneficiaries.
Since 2017, the company is a Member and co-founder of the Brazilian Council of Social Volunteering (CBVE). Along with 16 other companies, it undertakes the concept of collective impact, being one of the pioneers, in Brazil, in collaboration in a network of organizations, with benefits for the entire society.
Wilson Sons understands the importance of contributing to the development of the country and understands that this is only possible when we see the investment for the future in the present. Since 2014, we operate with a sponsorship agenda, through incentive laws, which focuses on training and educating children and young people who live in a state of social vulnerability through projects that enable this development through culture and sport.
